For museums, gift shops & the trade

Wholesale custom framing,
fulfilled behind
your brand.

Keep your storefront, your brand, your checkout. FramesOnDemand is the frame shop behind museums, gift shops, hotels, designers, and other frame businesses. Orders come in through your store, a spreadsheet, or our REST API. Framed art ships white-label from New Jersey, per order, with no subscription and no minimums. So your name stays on the work, and the sawdust stays here.

No platform migration, no lock-in. More than a million frames shipped. Your first email reaches our integration team, not a sales funnel.

Who we serve

One frame shop. Six kinds of partner.

FramesOnDemand supplies wholesale custom framing to organizations that sell or install framed art but do not want to run a frame shop. Every partner gets the same floor: 80+ frame styles across paper and canvas, 46 mats, archival materials, blind white-label shipping, and per-order billing with no minimums.

Museums & galleries

Sell framed reproductions from your collection without stocking a single frame. We print, frame, and ship each gift-shop or web order as it comes in.

  • Museum-grade cotton rag and conservation acrylic
  • Tax-exempt and resale certificates on file
  • Ships under your institution's name

Religious & nonprofit gift shops

Temples, churches, mosques, and nonprofit shops sell devotional and commemorative art framed, with zero inventory. Orders drop-ship one at a time, so nothing sits in a storeroom.

  • No minimums. One order is a fine order
  • Donor and member pieces in archival materials
  • Simple per-order billing your bookkeeper will like

Hospitality & interiors

Hotels, restaurants, offices, and senior living communities order matched framed sets for guest rooms and common areas. Acrylic glazing ships safer than glass and meets most property specs.

  • Consistent finishes across a 5-piece or 500-piece set
  • Batch orders by spreadsheet or API
  • Flat shipping by size, coast to coast

Frame shops with overflow

Busy season, short staff, or a job bigger than your bench? Send us the work. We cut, join, fit, and ship under your label, and your customer never knows we exist.

  • Blind fulfillment. Your brand on the box
  • Wholesale per-order pricing, no volume commitment
  • Chip samples so you can match mouldings first

Interior designers & art consultants

Spec framed art for client projects without markup games. Order project sets in exact fractional sizes, approve with chip samples, and bill your client your way.

  • Fractional sizing cut to the artwork
  • 46 mat colors and 40+ mouldings to spec against
  • Trade pricing on every order, not a tier

Online art sellers

Sell on Shopify, Etsy, Wix, or another storefront? You are exactly who we built the app for, and this is the same shop and the same wholesale rate. The FramesOnDemand app is your front door.

  • Same wholesale pricing as every partner here
  • Connect a store in about five minutes
  • Orders, production, and tracking run themselves
The fit

You have the storefront. You need the framing.

FramesOnDemand for Institutions is a white-label custom-framing fulfillment partner for museums, galleries, gift shops, hospitality buyers, designers, trade framers, and established art brands. You keep your own storefront and checkout; orders POST to our REST API and ship blind from our New Jersey shop under your brand. Established institutions don't need another sales channel, you already have the brand, the audience, and the checkout. What's hard to build is a real custom-framing line that ships at your standard and integrates with the stack you already run.

What you already have

A storefront and an audience that trusts your name.

  • Your own store on Magento, headless, BigCommerce, or a proprietary stack
  • An established brand and a collector or member audience
  • Original artwork, archives, or licensed imagery worth framing well
  • A checkout and customer relationship you have no intention of giving up
What we become

The custom frame shop behind your store.

  • Real custom framing. 40 styles, 45 mats, archival materials, custom sizing
  • An integration with your stack, wired by our team and yours together
  • White-label, blind fulfillment from our New Jersey shop
  • Tracking written back into your system as each order ships
How the integration works

Built for your stack, not the other way around.

If your platform can call an API, it works. Our team works with your developers to wire order ingest and tracking write-back, then orders flow on their own.

STEP 01

Connect via API

We provision your account and credentials. Our integration engineers work alongside your developers to map your storefront's orders to our REST API.

STEP 02

Configure your catalog

Set up your framed and unframed catalog in our portal, substrates, frame styles, mats, and sizing tuned to your collection and your spec.

STEP 03

Orders POST to us

A customer buys on your store. Your system POSTs the order and signed print file to our API. No marketplace in between, no manual re-keying.

STEP 04

We fulfill, tracking flows back

We print, frame, and ship white-label from New Jersey. Tracking writes back to your system the moment the carrier label prints.

Museum-grade quality

Real custom framing. Not three-color POD.

The catalog of a real custom frame shop, because we are one. Every order is made to order on archival materials, cut to each artwork, not pulled from a fixed catalog of stock sizes.

Your standard, held

Fulfillment that meets the bar your name sets.

When a piece ships under your institution's name, it has to look like your institution made it. That's the whole job, and it's the part we've done for over a decade.

01

Made to order, every time

No fixed catalog of three frames and a handful of stock sizes. Each order is cut, joined, matted, and finished to the artwork's exact dimensions in our shop.

So a limited series and a one-off both ship at the same standard.
02

One shop, one consistent hand

Not a partner network with quality that drifts by location. Every FramesOnDemand order is produced in the same New Jersey facility, on the same mouldings, by the same finishers.

So the tenth order matches the first, and the hundredth matches both.
03

Conservation materials as standard

Acid-free mats and backing, fine-art papers, and kiln-dried hardwood mouldings. The same materials a gallery or designer specifies when ordering custom framing direct.

So work you care about is framed to last, not to a price floor.
04

Free replacements, no friction

Damage rate has run under 0.3 percent for a decade. When a piece does arrive damaged, we ship a replacement within two business days, no photo evidence, no claim form.

So a rare bad shipment never becomes a mark against your name.
White-label & blind fulfillment

Ships under your brand. Your customers never see us.

Fulfillment is blind, end to end. Orders ship from our New Jersey shop in plain, unbranded packaging, nothing in the box or on the carton identifies FramesOnDemand or CustomPictureFrames. Your customer opens an unbranded box with their framed piece, and nothing points back to a third party.

  • Plain, unbranded packaging, no FramesOnDemand or CustomPictureFrames marks
  • No inserts, no invoices, no logos, no marketing in the box
  • Nothing in the shipment points your customer to a third party
  • Tracking written back to your store, in your customer's account
  • The customer relationship and the unboxing stay entirely yours

Tax-exempt friendly

Resale or exemption certificate on file. Exemption handled.

Many institutions buy for resale or hold a tax exemption. Put a resale or exemption certificate on your account. ST-3, ST-5, or your state's equivalent, and we apply the exemption to your orders. One certificate on file, handled from there.

Pricing

Per order. No subscription. No minimums.

You pay production cost plus a flat shipping rate by size, billed when we ship. No platform fee, no monthly tier, no volume commitment. You set your own retail pricing on your storefront.

FramesOnDemand for institutions

Pay only for the orders we ship.

$0/month, ever
  • Per-order pricing: production cost plus flat shipping by size
  • No subscription, no platform tier, no per-variant fee
  • No minimums and no volume commitment to unlock anything
  • Tax-exempt friendly with a resale or exemption certificate on file
  • You set your own retail pricing on your storefront
Integrate with our team

A REST API, and engineers to wire it with you.

This isn't a self-serve app install. Our integration team works directly with your developers to connect order ingest and tracking write-back to whatever you run today. If it can call an API, we can integrate it.

  • Public REST API for order ingest and status
  • Works with Magento, headless, BigCommerce, or proprietary stacks
  • Signed S3 print-file ingestion
  • Tracking and fulfillment write-back to your system
  • Our engineers partner with yours through go-live
  • Manual order entry available as a fallback
POST /v1/orders

Example request: POST /v1/orders. Your store posts each paid order as JSON with a reference number, a ship-to name, and an item object specifying substrate (such as framed_paper), frame style, mat color, print width and height in inches, and a signed file URL, plus blind_ship set to true. The API responds 201 Created, and tracking flows back to your system when the order ships.

The frame shop behind the API.

FramesOnDemand is the integration layer on top of CustomPictureFrames LLC, one of the largest made-to-order custom frame manufacturers in the United States, in business since 2015. FAQ

For institutions, specifically.

We run our own storefront. Do we have to move to Shopify?

No. You keep your storefront, your brand, and your checkout. FramesOnDemand sits behind your store as a fulfillment partner. If your platform can call a REST API. Magento, headless, BigCommerce, or fully proprietary, it can place orders with us. Our team works alongside your developers to wire order ingest and tracking write-back.

Will our customers ever see FramesOnDemand?

No. Fulfillment is blind and white-label. Orders ship from our New Jersey shop in unbranded packaging, under your brand. There are no FramesOnDemand inserts, invoices, or marketing in the box. Your customers experience your institution, end to end.

Is the framing actually custom, or is it three stock frames?

Real custom framing. Forty frame styles, forty-five mat colors, archival materials, and fractional sizing cut to each artwork. The print's width plus height can sum up to 72 inches, commonly to 32 by 40. Every order is made to order in our shop, not pulled from a small fixed catalog.

What stacks can you integrate with?

Anything that can call an API. We have wired against Magento, headless front ends, BigCommerce, and fully proprietary commerce systems. Order ingest is a REST endpoint, print files come in through signed S3, and tracking writes back to your system on ship. If you can POST an order, we can fulfill it.

How does institutional pricing work?

Per order, billed when we ship. No subscription, no platform tier, no minimums. You pay production cost plus a flat shipping rate by size, and you set your own retail pricing on your storefront.

Are you tax-exempt friendly?

Yes. Many institutions buy for resale or hold a tax exemption. Put a resale or exemption certificate on file. ST-3, ST-5, or your state's equivalent, and we handle the exemption on your account.

Can a church, temple, or mosque gift shop use FramesOnDemand?

Yes. Religious and nonprofit gift shops are a natural fit. You sell framed devotional or commemorative art in your shop or online, and we produce and drop-ship each order as it is placed. There are no minimums and no inventory to hold, and nonprofit tax exemptions are handled with a certificate on file.

Do you take overflow work from other frame shops?

Yes. Trade framers send us overflow every busy season. We cut, join, fit, and ship under your label, with wholesale per-order pricing and no volume commitment. Order chip samples first to match your moulding lines.

Do you handle hotel and hospitality framing?

Yes. Hospitality buyers order matched framed sets for guest rooms, lobbies, and dining rooms. Acrylic glazing ships safer than glass and meets most property specs. Batch orders can come in by spreadsheet or through the API, and finishes stay consistent across the whole set.

How do we get started?

Email partners@framesondemand.app. We'll scope your catalog and your stack, provision an account, and put our integration engineers in touch with your developers to wire the connection.

Who actually makes the frames?
